Film trailer report: Eden lake (2009)

Codes and conventions:
·         Man and women go on a romantic weekend.
·         They chose a very deserted place by a lake.
·         SEX could equal death.
The use of modern day terrors is used in this film so it is very easy for the audience to relate making it all the more realistic and scary.

Moment of equilibrium:
The period of equilibrium is when the couple are looking forward to their quiet romantic weekend relaxing by the lake; there is then a disagreement between the man and a group of teenagers as they are being noisy.
The moment of disequilibrium happens when the couple wake up and notice there stuff has been stolen and from then on things start to go downhill.

Sounds and editing:
Within the first part of the trailer there are numerous tone cards and a lot of quick cuts, there is also a non-digetic of a woman’s voice. There is a transitions fade to red which we could easily relate to death and blood shred. There is also some more tone cards and then quick 1 second cuts which set anticipation and danger into the audience.
